Hi, my name is Mary.  I have started Lighthouse Hope for the families of inmates.  There are many outreaches by individuals, churches and other organizations who are trying to help the inmate.  I have not found many that are there for the moms and dads, spouses, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, grandparents… the families of the inmates. that is who this is for.  We go through all the same things as everyone else, but with the added burden of having one or more behind bars. 

I know from experience how that feels, in addition, I have looked into the eyes so many that are on this path.  The tears, hopelessness, pain, and fear is real.  It is my desire to provide a format for encouraging, sharing helpful information, and for you to ask questions and express how you feel.  I must say right off that this is not for legal advice or help with upcoming court appearances.   There are lawyers and attorneys for that.  This is for what lawyers, attorneys and any other court room personal doesn’t even begin to address, and that is how the incarceration impacts the family.

The greatest comfort I have found in any of the challenges I have had to face has come from my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He has walked with me, and continues to walk with me through everything.  I don’t know how I would make it without Him.  I know that He wants to help you as well.  I can’t change the facts of what is happening in your life, but I can walk with you through the unknown.
