Some people close to me have been going through some physical things that have been very painful. Both have been seeking medical help. It has made daily life activities difficult for them and sleep almost impossible. Pain killers are not even touching what they are going through. Yet both are glad that they have the help they do. Both are slowly getting better.
There are some other people I know and who are going through a lot of pain as well. Medical personal pain killers can’t even touch what they are going through. Theirs’s is a mental and emotional pain.
When kids are little, you can go through a LOT of bandaids. Whether it is bleeding or not, a child feels so much better if a bandaid is put on it. Not sure what tall the science in that is, of how a bandaid can make them calmer and feel as if it is ok again. The source of the pain is covered. Maybe it is like a hug to the pain area.
As we grow older, a bandaid doesn’t take the pain like it did when we were kids. The hurts are different. Maybe we still have some physical issues, but not always where a bandaid will help. Maybe it is an emotional hurt. Those can’t be easily dealt with and can cut deep. So, what do you do when a bandaid won’t help?
Of course, one must recognize when professional help is necessary. Medical issues may need a Doctor. Emotional pain and other issues may need professional help as well. No matter what the situation, we have to recognize when we can no longer handle things on our own. At every level there is One who understands and will help. When I say He understands, I mean that in His body He suffered greatly, so He knows all about physical pain. Jesus was rejected and crucified by the very people He tried to help, so He understands emotional pain as well. No one loves you more than He does. Has anyone else died for you? Has anyone else ever taken the blame for your sin like He has and paid the price for forgiveness. That is love. You are loved. He can help with your pain, and every part of your life. Never forget how much you are loved!!!
